VBOX Video HD2 Setup (macOS)

Version 1.2.5 - October 2026

Features

  • Native Apple Silicon support
VBOX Video Setup now runs natively on Apple Silicon Macs (M1 and later) as well as Intel Macs, and no longer relies on Rosetta. It is built for current macOS releases, including macOS 26 and macOS 27.
  • Audio over HDMI
You can now turn HDMI audio output on or off from the HDMI output settings. This needs HD2 firmware 1.3.78 or later and the Camera 1 & 2 + graphics' output mode.
  • Negative CAN channel scaling
CAN channels can now be scaled below zero, matching the Windows software. This helps when building scenes with a Micro Input module.
  • More CAN channels
The CAN channel limit has been raised to 80 CAN channels.
  • Heart rate in Text elements
Text elements can now display heart rate parameters, so you can show bpm as text.
  • Start/finish as start line only
A new lap timing option treats the start/finish line as a start line only.
  • Licence agreement in the installer
The installer now shows the End-User Licence Agreement, which you must accept before installation continues.

Improvements

  • Minimum macOS version is now 10.14 Mojave (previously 10.11 El Capitan).
  • Buttons, checkboxes, segmented controls and lists are now readable on the dark panels in recent versions of macOS.
  • CAN settings text and other panels that showed grey on grey are now white and easier to read.
  • The font picker's list and preview text are now readable on the dark panel.
  • The HDMI output settings now explain that the "No Graphic" video feed options are only supported on HD2 cameras with a blue "Top" sticker, and include a picture to help you check.
  • Alternate display is now only offered on Text elements that show a lap timing parameter, matching the Windows software.
  • When a scene can't be saved because a Text element's channel isn't in the scene, the message now names the missing channel and selects the element at fault.
  • Before the unit gets a GPS fix, the track map marker now waits on the selected circuit's start/finish line instead of appearing off the track.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug where the picture-in-picture camera could disappear from the scene. The camera feed is now capped at 1280 × 720 in picture-in-picture and floating camera modes, and other elements are no longer limited in size.
  • Fixed a bug where saving a scene with a group element reported "selected text parameter not set" even though the parameter was set.
  • Fixed a bug where a custom user position indicator image was drawn in the wrong place on the track map.
  • Fixed a bug where the CAN "Send Acknowledge" option was unticked after you reopened a saved scene.
  • Fixed a crash when saving a scene after editing it.
  • Fixed a crash and an issue where custom track maps were not saved.
  • Fixed a bug where gauges and needles with a background image were not layered correctly.
  • Fixed a bug where some scene elements, such as steering wheel and bar elements, did not save or load correctly.
  • Fixed a bug where images and the CAN icon disappeared after you clicked the Channel settings or file open buttons.
  • Fixed a bug where CAN parameters from Mini and Micro Input modules were not all shown in the video.
  • Fixed a bug where items in the scene selector could spill outside their area on macOS Sonoma and later.
